DNCm3e was initially created by loading percussive, atonal samples into my sampler and manipulating the volume and velocity parameters of each sample without adjusting any of the tonal or frequency parameters. These were bounced to multiple audio files which were then manipulated / layered / folded over itself many times over using only volume, gating, dynamics and panning processing.
